Playacar is a form of residential community establishment with walls and fences that contain entrances for pedestrians, bicycles and automobiles located in a city on the coast of the Caribbean Sea in the north eastern part of Mexico State of Quintana. This city is referred to as Playa del Carmen. In 1979, Mr. Fernando Barbachano's company developed the Playacar which was later sold to an American Corporation known as Aircoa. After sometime they also sold this development to SIDEK who was in the family of Martinez Huitron. Currently Playacar is owned by Mr. Ernesto Echeverria. Playa is mainly influenced by a number of business people all over Europe.The south of the main gate of Playa del Carmen has a residential and tourist development site. It is this development site that is called Playacar which is well planned and highly secure. Within the development there are hotels, aviary, which is mostly cage free with many bird species and a 18 hole good golf course. The development has two main phases categorized according to their key functions. The first phase is the residential section which has few hotels and stores. The other phase has most of the largest resorts i.e. The Royal Hideaway Resort together with the golf course designed by Robert von Hagge carved through the lush Mayan jungle as well as some residential properties.
